About Redwood Way
Independent procurement consultants established in Taichung, helping Taiwan SMEs compare vendors and read contracts with clarity.
Redwood Way Consulting Co., Ltd. is the registered business name under which we operate. The firm was established in 2018 in Taichung when our founder, after fifteen years in manufacturing supply roles, saw smaller companies signing vendor agreements without anyone checking references or capacity claims.
How we began
The first engagements were informal — a bakery owner asking us to compare three oven suppliers, a clinic needing written criteria before selecting a linen service. Word spread among owner-operators who wanted an outside reader before large deposits. By 2020 we formalized the practice, added RFQ drafting, and began serving export-oriented factories in central Taiwan.
What we do today
We remain a consulting practice, not a software vendor. Our work happens in meeting rooms, supplier sites, and shared document folders. Consultants interview vendors, collect certificates, and write comparison memos directors can act on.
Our team
Chen Wei-Lin, Managing Consultant — former procurement manager at a precision parts exporter; leads vendor site visits and financial reference checks.
Huang Ya-Ting, Senior Analyst — drafts RFQs and tender schedules; previously coordinated municipal equipment purchases.
Mark Olsen, Contract Review Associate — translates commercial clauses into owner-readable summaries; licensed in Taiwan and familiar with common SME purchase agreements.
Working with clients
We prefer fixed-scope engagements with clear deliverables: a due diligence memo, an RFQ pack, or annotated contract notes. Most work blends on-site visits in Taichung and remote document review for clients elsewhere in Taiwan.
We do not sell supplier directories, commission from vendors, or resell software. Our fee comes from you, which keeps our findings independent.
Values
Evidence over enthusiasm. Sales presentations are noted, but we weight verifiable documents.
Plain language. Findings are written so owners without procurement titles can follow them.
Respect for your timeline. We state capacity honestly and decline work we cannot finish before your decision date.
